Faecal worm egg screen

There are many species of helminths that infect domestic animals, some of which have zoonotic potential.  An egg count can be used as a general health check, to investigate clinical signs such as weight loss and diarrhoea and to check the efficacy of treatment and aid in disease control.

Faecal worm egg testing at TEST-A-PET

Parasite Detection
At TEST-A-PET we use an initial salt floatation to screen for the presence of worm eggs, followed by a McMaster differential egg count where this is indicated.
We can also screen samples for the presence of Isospora spp. and Eimeria spp. oocysts.

Sample required:  3g fresh faeces.

Results are available within two working days of us receiving the sample.
