Cryptosporidium

  CRYPTOSPORIDIOSIS

Cryptosporidium is a coccidian parasite infecting many animals and humans. It lacks host specificity and therefore has zoonotic potential. Clinical disease is characterised by diarrhoea and weight loss especially in young animals.

Cryptosporidium testing at TEST-A-PET

Parasite Detection
At TEST-A-PET, Cryptosporidium is detected by examination of specially stained faecal smears.

Sample required:  1g of fresh faeces.

Results are available within two working days of us receiving the sample.
